In Studio1, I have been taught how the use of line in an art piece can be send different messages of emotion in to different ways buy different people. For example, a broad squiggly line for some people my be happy, and sad for something else. This is important to consider as a visual artist due to the fact that you want to evoke a certain emotion in your art piece to the general public. You wouldn't want to have an art piece that is meant to be happy, but your use of lines make most people feel that the piece is sad. It would be seen as you envisioned your piece.
Learning this really makes me wary as both a sketch artist an as a fashion designer. As a sketch artist, line is very critical. The wrong pencil stroke has the possibility to send the wrong message to your audience. As a fashion designer, line is also important. With the use of line in the pattern of the fabric, it could take a summer dress to a winter dress. Pattern and line is key.
